We emphasize and focus on building a knowledge-based economy. We encourage creativity, originality and industry through comprehensive education reforms and youth empowerment programs.
The Plan
1. University Scholarships for Bright Needy Students
- Provide high-value University Scholarships annually for at least one hundred (100) bright but less privileged students from each division
- Partner with local and foreign institutions of higher learning
- Focus on science, technology, business, entrepreneurship, arts, social sciences and humanities
- Create pathways for academic excellence regardless of economic background
2. Youth Empowerment and Training
- Empower youth through education, training and gainful employment
- Set up Job centers in all divisions that make up Kampala City Council
- Focus on building socio-economic independence and financial security
- Partner with private sector to create productive opportunities for youth
3. Universal Access to Quality Education
- Strengthen principles of universal access to education
- Ensure Kampala has well-constructed, equipped and staffed free elementary learning centers
- Focus on early childhood development and primary education
- Improve educational infrastructure across all divisions
4. Creative and Innovative Learning
- Encourage creativity, originality and industry in educational approaches
- Develop programs that foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Integrate technology and digital literacy in education
- Support vocational and technical training programs
